What is Balloon Sinuplasty?

Do you suffer from chronic sinusitis symptoms? If so, Balloon Sinuplasty (or balloon sinus dilation) may be the right solution for you. Balloon Sinuplasty is an in-office treatment option which allows sinus patients to experience meaningful improvement by treating the root cause of the recurrent infection.

Balloon Sinuplasty is a breakthrough procedure that relieves the pain and pressure of chronic sinusitis which affects more than 37 million Americans each year. This procedure is now available in our office under local anesthesia. It is estimated that up to 60% of chronic sinusitis sufferers are not successfully treated with medication and are candidates for sinus surgery.

Less Invasive Than Sinus Surgery

Balloon Sinuplasty is less invasive than conventional sinus surgery. The blocked sinuses are opened while preserving the natural structure of the sinuses. A specially-designed flexible catheter is inserted through the nostril to reach the inflamed sinus cavity. A small balloon is slowly inflated, which gently widens and restructures the walls of the sinus passage without cutting, and with minimal bleeding. The balloon is then removed, leaving the sinuses open. Our physicians perform this procedure both in the hospital setting as well as in our office.

Is Balloon Sinuplasty covered by my insurance?

Most insurances cover sinus surgery with the Balloon Sinuplasty device. To be 100% certain of your coverage, please contact our office or your insurance provider.
